I Was Insecure & Just Wanted Me Family & Friends To See Me As A “Doctor,” But Not Only Is That Completely Ridiculous, It’s A Slippery Slope… First We Delude Ourselves Into Thinking We’re Trained Just Like Medical Doctors, Then We Delude Ourselves Into Thinking We Can Operate Just Like Medical Doctors… And Suddenly We Have Chiropractors Talking About Cancer & Pharmaceuticals & Vaccines & All Kinds Of Sh*T That’s Wayyy Beyond Our Scope. Stay In Your Lane. We’re Equipped To Handle Musculoskeletal Stuff, We Have Clinical Practice Guidelines & A Strong Body Of Evidence To Guide Us, And Medical Doctors Have Bigger Fish To Fry Like Cancer & Diabetes… Let’s Help Them Out & Dominate The Stuff We Should Be Good At That They Don’t Have Time For… Back Pain, Shoulder Pain Etc. That’s My Dream For Chiropractic. It’ll Never Happen Because The Profession Is Already Too Far Gone… But In A Perfect World, We Just Stick To Ruling Out Red Flags & Use Education & Exercise To Guide People Towards Self Managing The Aches & Pains That Should Never Really Require A Medical Doctors Attention Attention They Frankly Don’t Have Time For Anyway. They Usually Can’t Give Those Cases More Than 10 Minutes Due To Hospital Scheduling & Higher Priority Life Threatening Cases… And If I Only Had 10 Minutes With Patients, I’d Do A Horrible Job. I Usually Need To Listen To A Person For A Damn Hour Before I Can Even Come Up With Decent Advice… But We Have The Time!! And We Should Be So Well Versed In Guideline Based Care That We Can Help Medical Doctors By Taking Those Cases Off Their Plate.
