I did this to save time.) - 4 tomatoes, diced or can of diced tomatoes - 4 serrano pepper cut into 1 inch pieces and then quartered Tarka: - 1/2 cup avocado oil (or ghee) - 2 Tbsp minced garlic - 1/2 Tosp cumin seeds - 1 tsp chili powder - 1 tsp Kashmiri chill powder (Optional, dried red chilis) Recipe Steps 1. Lentil Base: In a rice cooker, combine lentils, water, turmeric and salt. Stir and then close the rice cooker lid, turn on the rice cooker and select the "white rice" setting. 2. Masala: Pour in the oil to coat the bottom of your pan, followed by cumin seeds and peppercorns. Allow to toast for about 30 seconds, then add in the diced red onion. Once the onion is translucent, add in a Bay leaf, then stir in chili powder, Kashmiri chili powder (or paprika) coriander, garam masala and red pepper flakes. Then stir in diced tomatoes and cook for around 6 minutes. Next, strir in serrano peppers and cook for 2 minutes. Scoop masala into the rice cooker and stir. The close the lid and turn it on for the "white rice setting." 3. Tarka: Pour the oil into the pan. Stir in the minced garlic, cumin seeds, chili powder and Kashmiri chill powder. Once rice fooker is done, carefully open it and pour in the tarka. The tarka will sizzle. Stir tarka into the daal and enjoy! My husband said this is the best daal fry recipe he's tasted in five years. So l am challenging myself to find out how to make it better than whatever he had six years ago. It I do, I will post that recipe too.”. I love recipes where you just throw everything in and let it cook. You can really use any vegetables you have at home, this is perfect for cleaning out the fridge. Ingredients: • 1 cup lentils • 1 carrot, chopped • 1 onion, chopped • 2 garlic cloves • ½ bell pepper • a handful of spinach • chicken broth • coconut milk • salt & pepper • paprika powder • cumin or curry powder (optional) • yogurt and parsley for serving Add lentils, vegetables, broth, coconut milk and spices to a rice cooker or multicooker. Cook for about 40–45 minutes until the lentils are soft and the stew is creamy. Season to taste, serve with a spoon of yogurt and fresh parsley.”.

It’s so inexpensive to buy them dry and just cook them in the rice maker. You just choose the white rice setting and let it do its thing. Now they’re easy to add to soups or on salads or bowls. comment: guide if you want my FREE plant based protein and fiber guide”. In another post by @theplantslant: “Replying to @snake05230 The Ninja slow cooker/rice cooker is actually quite nice! @Fiber_China 💫”. As noted by @thestomachdoc: “High-Protein, High-Fiber Rice 🍚 Credit @Fiber_China 💫 Want to make your rice more filling, more nutritious, and more supportive of gut health? Try this simple upgrade. Ingredients: • 1 cup rice • ½ cup lentils • ½ cup quinoa • 2–3 cups liquid (water or broth) Add everything to your rice cooker and cook until tender. Approximate nutrition for the entire batch: • ~35-40 grams protein • ~30-35 grams fiber • Rich in complex carbohydrates • Excellent source of plant-based protein Lentils are packed with fiber, plant protein, resistant starch, and prebiotics that can support gut health, digestive health, bowel regularity, microbiome diversity, fullness, satiety, and healthy digestion. Quinoa adds additional protein, fiber, minerals, and nutrients while helping create a more balanced carbohydrate source than rice alone. The result is a high-protein, high-fiber rice blend that can help support blood sugar control, cholesterol management, heart health, digestive wellness, gut microbiome health, healthy eating, weight management, meal prep, and overall nutrition. Want even more protein and fiber? Stir frozen edamame into the hot rice after cooking. The residual heat will thaw it within minutes while adding additional protein, fiber, and nutrients. Or add frozen peas, which thaw just as easily and provide extra fiber, vitamins, minerals, and plant-based nutrition. This works great with salmon, chicken, shrimp, steak, tofu, beans, vegetables, grain bowls, stir-fries, and meal prep lunches. Simple ingredients. High protein. High fiber. Gut-friendly. Budget-friendly. Meal prep approved.”.
